The MES-3728 is ZyXEL's newly launched Carrier Ethernet Switch. Its high-performance hardware platform and new physical features enable service providers to easily extend network topologies, while the robust security and management functions help customers to fulfill differentiated metro Ethernet service needs. The MES-3728 not only represents ZyXEL's entry into the Metropolitan Ethernet networking arena, but also demonstrates the company's technical capability on Metro Ethernet deployments.

Secure Multi-Service Delivery and Quality
The ZyXEL MES-3728 is a carrier-class Ethernet switch based on a high-performance hardware platform with robust security, Quality of Service (QoS) and management features to deliver intelligent connectivity for differentiated metro Ethernet services. With new features like VLAN Stacking (also known as VLAN Tunneling) and VLAN Translation*, it is capable of isolating individual customer traffics from internal signaling of the core networks.
Advance Mechanical Design for Metro Ethernet
Designed for Metro Ethernet deployments, The MES-3728 offers high operating temperature tolerance, flexible AC/DC dual-input power source as well as protection against humidity and dust for service providers to extend their networks. Since MES-3728 adopts the "front access" design, technicians can easily wire and maintain outdoor cabinets; the external alarm input/output block connects mechanical cabinet parts to the management networks and offers higher protection to the equipment. Moreover, the PWM control fan module not only reduces noise, but also extends MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure) to boost mechanical reliability.
